Introduction
Equestrian sport has recognised the importance of integrating the principles of Sports Science and Equine Science to maximise performance and success. The Equestrian Sports Science degree will enable you to study the athletic combination of horse and rider and develop research into the interaction between the two. You will develop an in-depth knowledge of the support required for horses and riders competing at the highest levels of competition in all aspects of equine sport.

Teaching and learning
Learning is through lectures, field visits, laboratory based practicals, seminars and industrial visits. You will also have individual tutorial sessions. A wide variety of assessment methods are used including open book and prepared examinations, literature reviews, project reports, poster and seminar presentations, assessed practicals and oral examinations.
