You don't need to be working in HRM already to benefit from this course, as it covers everything you need to know about the subject in a global context.

Structure
Content
This programme starts with a week long induction session. The primary focus of the first term will be upon HRM and related policies and practices in the domestic environment, whilst the second term will elaborate and develop international themes. The course will cover the following modules:
- Managing Finance - the aim of this module is to develop and build upon knowledge and understanding of the principles and techniques of managing finance to support decision making in a global context.
- Meeting Customer Needs - the aim of this module is to help you understand how organisations are transformed to better identify and satisfy the needs of their customers
- People and Organisations - this module will provide you with a critical and enquiring understanding of the body of knowledge composing people and organisations introduce students to a range of theoretical perspectives and empirical research which accord with this body of knowledge develop their ability to deploy a variety of perspectives for analysing organisations and people
- Strategic Analysis - the aim of this module is to introduce the terminology of economics and strategy, to develop your understanding of strategic analysis and practice
- International Human Resources Management in Context - this module will provide you with a critical understanding of the international/organisational and external context of international human resource management, whilst introducing a number of conceptual frameworks by which to evaluate the impact of cultural, political, social, legal and economic factors on managerial decision-making.
- International Employment Relations - this module will provide you with detailed knowledge of work and employment in an international context, equipping you with the skills needed to operate effectively in a global environment. You will gain an appreciation of the cultural and historical implications of work in the global economy.
- International Resourcing and Talent Management - this module will provide you with a critical understanding of the contribution that International Resourcing and Talent Management can make to the achievement of organisational strategic goals in international business operations.
- Global Standards and Human Resource Management Best Practice - this module will examine and explore the impact of global standards with regard to HR policy-making and practice. It will explore the philosophical and practical implications of global standards on the effective management of resources within businesses and organisations and the impact on national developments.
- Investigating a Business Issue from an HR Perspective - this module aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to be able to design, conduct and evaluate research projects in the field of human resource management.
Dissertation
Your study in the first two terms will equip you with the skills needed to produce a significant piece of research, on a topic that may be practical or theoretical which you begin in the summer term. Your supervisor will provide extensive guidance and consultation.
Teaching and learning
Traditional lectures are only part of the course. You'll also learn through syndicate work, group and individual presentations and discussion, student led seminar groups, analysis and application of case studies, as well as experiential learning and simulations including role plays. These methods create an environment that is enjoyable, varied and hugely effective.
Assessment
Assessment is through supervised mini-projects, presentations, time-constrained assignments and examinations.

Entry
Entry requirements
There's a lot to learn on this intensive, one year full-time course, so it will require a significant commitment on your part.
You'll need:
- A good honours degree (minimum 2:2) from a recognised Higher Education institution or equivalent from a recognised overseas institution
- to be able to demonstrate an interest in HRM.
If English is not your first language, you will be required to meet the UK Border Agency and Universities minimum English Language requirements, such as:
- the International English Language Test (IELTS) 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in all components
