Introduction
It is anticipated that the 2012 Olympic Games and the Olympic legacy will further mobilise the UK's enthusiasm for sport, and have the potential to significantly increase participation at all levels and the medal success of our elite athletes. The aim of these programmes is to embrace this enthusiasm and produce effective and efficient sport managers to work as operational, supervisory and middle managers within the sports industry.
The BA(Hons) degree aims to provide you with strong academic skills which can be applied to your workplace or lead you into further academic study.

Teaching and learning
The varied learning experiences available include lectures, field trips, laboratory based practicals, seminars, workshops and an eight week work placement opportunity. You will be assessed via written examinations, multiple choice questions, practical assessments, oral examinations, written assignments, and seminar presentations. First class resources include a human performance laboratory, power gym and fitness centre and rubber crumb all weather surface.
Careers/further study
Graduates may take up operational, supervisory and middle management roles within the private and public sports sectors in the direct management of health and fitness. Alternative careers include managing sport development programmes services and facilities or small businesses in the sports coaching or conditioning industries.
