About this course
Introduction
This part-time course is a degree level 3 'top up' programme which offers you the opportunity to study for an honours level qualification alongside continuing to develop your experience of employment and professional practice in the creative and related industries.
This course will allow you to undertake an extensive programme of self-directed study which reflects your own particular skills, abilities and ambitions. The course also seeks to bridge the transitions from being a student into professional practice of employment.
Work-related learning and professional practice are at the core of the course ethos, so as well as engaging in academic study, you will also be actively encouraged to seek out opportunities relevant to your professional ambitions and to develop your understanding of the employment contexts that exist for creative practitioners.
Students are taught in interdisciplinary groups, reflecting the nature of the contemporary creative industries that you will be engaging with throughout your studies and after graduation.
While developing your professional understanding you will continue to develop your individual practice. Additionally you will undertake an extended research project through which you will develop research skills, and engage with relevant theory and methodologies, extending your experience of writing for the creative industries.
This course is suitable for students who have successfully completed FdA, HND or Level 2 BA(Hons) study in Art, Design, Media or related subjects and who wish to continue their studies to Honours level, whilst developing their work experience or professional practice in this field.
