The Department of Planning and Architecture's short course programme is aimed at all those working in planning, development and related disciplines. We offer an ever growing and changing series of courses to reflect the needs of practitioners at all levels. Our courses are for planners, architects, surveyors, valuers, lawyers, construction professionals and other related practitioners as well as technical and support staff. All are run by experienced staff and most take the form of interactive workshops and presentations. Most offer CPD certification.
Overseas students need to have, in advance of application, either a valid student visa or evidence of residency status in the UK
The course provides you with a basic knowledge of the methodology of environmental noise measurement which is then applied during the case study field work. This measurement data will be used to assess the significance of the environmental noise against the framework of standards and legislation.
Who is the course for?
Technical and scientific staff in local authorities, environmental consultancies and companies whose employment requires them to gain a working knowledge of noise measurement and a basic appreciation of noise control methods.
