The aim of this half a day Renal Study Day for Nurses and Allied Professionals is to develop knowledge and understanding of chronic kidney disease and its five stages; how to manage each stage within the clinical environment and when to refer to a Nephrologist.
Integral to this is the appropriate and timely management of the patient's hypertension and strategies in how to achieve this are discussed during the course of this study morning.
The course also covers some aspects of acute kidney injury such as patients who are at risk of developing AKI, prevention and initial management of AKI.
The course is intended mainly for primary care nursing and allied health care professionals managing patients with hypertension and /or chronic kidney disease. Upon successful completion of the study morning a certificate of attendance for four CPD hours will be issued for your portfolio.
