Introduction

This introductory programme comprises two 15 credit modules:

Supporting Learning in Higher Education UTLG96-15-M
Developing Practice in Higher Education UTLG97-15-3

This course will be of interest to: Associate Lecturers/technicians and fractional posts below 0.5 FTE, giving credits which can contribute towards the PG Cert in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.

This short-course is validated by the HEA and upon completion your details will be sent to the HEA to claim your recognition and certificate as an HEA Associate Fellow.

Entry requirements

You must be able to provide within your application:

  • Your role, Department and Line Manager
  • Confirmation of Faculty or HR approval (include contact name)
  • Confirmation of secured teaching for academic year 2016/17 (45 hours minimum)
  • Confirmation that teaching is appropriate to meet the learning outcomes - you must be able to show teaching and learning planning, development and assessment which can be formative and/or summative within your practice; you must be able to reflect on how you could improve your practice and must be able to establish a rapport with a group of learners over a period of time

Careers / Further study

Can contribute towards the PG Cert in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.

UTLG96-15-M - 21 September, 5 October, 2 November, 16 November 2016, 11 January (presentations), 18 January (directed study, no attendance required), 15 February and 1 March 2017.

UTLG97-15-3 - 19 October, 30 November 2016, 1 February and 15 March 2017.
