About
Why study this course?
Food affects every aspect of our lives. It influences how we grow, how we feel and how healthy we are at every age. As populations grow and live longer, understanding the link between food, nutrition and health is becoming increasingly important.
As the world's population grows, the food sector faces challenges around sustainability, food production and making sure everyone has access to safe, nutritious food.
On our BSc(Hons) Food, Nutrition and Health (with Foundation Year) you'll learn how nutritional needs change from childhood through to older age and how food choices affect health and wellbeing. You'll discover the role nutrition plays in sports performance, healthy ageing and public health.
You'll explore how food is produced, how it can impact the environment, and the role food policy plays in creating a healthier and more sustainable future. You'll investigate why access to healthy, nutritious food can vary between communities and locations, and the impact this can have on health.
