This intensive course prepares you to kickstart or accelerate your project management career. Graduates go on to work locally and internationally as project, change, or operations managers in industries such as aviation, transport, technology, finance, banking, and manufacturing. Many also thrive in public sector roles with organisations including local government, defence, SMART Cities, the NHS, educational institutions, and transport authorities.

You'll study the following compulsory modules:
- Project Management Principles
- Leadership, Strategy and Governance in Projects
- Professional Practice Catalyst
- Group Project Challenge
- Independent Project Challenge.
Plus, one optional module from:
- Navigating Business Project Complexities
- Navigating Engineering Project complexities.

Learning and Teaching
Our teaching is practice-led and research-informed, helping you tackle real-world business challenges with confidence.
You'll work on projects that reflect today's complex business environment, supported by expert tutorsmany with industry experience and active research roles. This blend of practical insight and academic rigour ensures up-to-date, career-focused learning.
You'll learn through formal classes, seminars, group work, and independent study, following a Prepare, Participate, Practise model to build and apply your knowledge.
You'll collaborate with a diverse, international cohort, gaining global perspectives while developing problem-solving skills through assignments, case studies, and presentations.

Study time
You'll attend the University for 12 months, with between eight and 12 hours of teaching scheduled a week during both teaching terms and mentored study during the final project term.
Assessment
You'll complete a range of practice-based assessments such as portfolios, case studies, presentations, reports, reflective diaries, essays, and exams. Our assessment methods are designed to help you build practical skills and demonstrate your ability to manage complex projects through real-world application.
Each assessment is carefully designed to reflect what project managers do in the workplace. You'll get feedback and support throughout, so you can grow your confidence and competence as you progress.

Entry
Entry requirements
We normally require an honours degree of 2:2 or equivalent.
We can consider applicants who do not meet the normal entry requirements, but who do have relevant professional experience or qualifications. In your application, you should describe in detail your professional experience and qualifications.
Personal Statement
You're required to complete a personal statement for this course. Please read the personal statement guidance carefully and make sure that you answer the questions on the postgraduate application form within the personal statement tabs, keeping to the advised word count.
Deferred entry
We're not able to offer deferrals for this course. However, we appreciate there may be extenuating circumstances to consider and therefore we will consider requests on a case by case basis.
English Language Requirement
International and EU applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 with 5.5 in each component (or approved equivalent*).
