Introduction

This 30 credit module, Professional Development and Clinical Leadership in Cancer Care, will enable students to meet the outcomes and underpinning capabilities in the ACCEND framework, integrate all components of learning to their progression and development and engage in learning and development activities that reflect the demands of this level of learning and practice.

The level 7 (Masters level) module has been mapped to the Aspirant Cancer Career and Education Development Programme (ACCEND) Framework and will enable you to explore your role in clinical leadership in the cancer arena and critically consider the culture of continuous improvement in cancer care.

On successful completion of this module, you will be able to:

  • evaluate theoretical frameworks of leadership and change management and critically appraise their relevance to your cancer care practice.
  • critically consider a culture of continuous improvement through audit, service evaluation and research.
  • critically discuss impact of teamworking on professional practice.
  • self-assess and evidence relevant capabilities in practice aligned to national cancer frameworks.
  • identify and critically apply strategies to effectively build personal resilience whist working in cancer care.
