Programme introduction
Design Thinking has emerged as a human-centred, creative and robust approach to solving problems and identifying opportunities in business and social contexts.
Rooted in the creative strategies that professional designers use in the process of designing products and/or services, Design Thinking is an approach without boundaries. Everybody is creative given the right process to 'unlock' their creativity and provide an alternative mindset in approaching a challenge.
This highly practical programme will introduce you to Design Thinking as a process for finding new, relevant and transformative solutions that create a positive impact. It's a hands-on process for gathering inspiration, looking for opportunities, creating ideas and getting relevant feedback. By the end of the sessions, you will have the skills, tools and confidence you need to drive change across your business.
Who is it for?
This programme is for mid-level to high-level managers and SME owners who have responsibility or influence customer-focussed products or services and/or who are looking for new ways to think about strategy, innovation and solving complex problems.

What does it cover?
Over the two days, this course will explore the stages and methods of the design thinking process and how these can be applied to organisational challenges.
How will I learn?
The course will be delivered in a very practical way. Participants will work on a real challenge and be supported through expert facilitation, a skills workshops and case studies from industry.

Our Continuing Professional Development programmes are run at the Bristol Business School, providing a professional environment for your development needs. Located at Frenchay Campus, with easy access to the M4 and M5 motorways and Bristol Parkway rail station, it has four fully equipped training rooms, a communications and reception area.
To be able to fully participate in our programme, you will need to be comfortable with using the Internet and searching for information online. Session materials are presented through a number of sources including Microsoft Word, Power Point, pdf and online workbooks and discussions.
