Introduction

UWE Bristol are offering our alumni a pioneering and exclusive professional development programme, relevant across disciplines, regardless of when you graduated.

Launched in September 2018, our Trailblazer Programme blends face-to-face sessions with online research resources and interactive sessions. Participants are motivated to maximise personal impact, boost effectiveness and develop leadership skills.

Facilitated by experienced academics, seasoned practitioners, and inspirational speakers, this programme echoes the mantra of learning by doing which is integral to our Bristol Business School and Bristol Law School.

Who is it for?

Offered exclusively to UWE Bristol alumni on a complimentary basis, this is a chance to continue the learning that you began when you were a student. The programme enables you to take advantage of your lifelong connection to our expertise and community.

This programme will give you up-to-date relevant skills to use in your professional career. You will also gain access to a growing and vibrant community of Trailblazers with future networking events.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this programme, however places are offered exclusively to UWE Bristol alumni from our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Structure

Content

The programme incorporates four stand-alone face-to-face sessions alongside online learning and two interactive sessions per cohort. We do ask that you make every effort to attend all sessions.

Session 1 - Leading Self for Personal Effectiveness

Learn how to adapt your behaviour and actions when dealing with different individuals, tasks and situations. Acquire the skills to deliver exceptional performance, authentically.

Session 2 - Leading Others for Impact

Practical tips on creating high performing teams focusing on; healthy team dynamics, influencing and communicating.

Session 3 - Coaching and Mentoring

Transform your personal management style in this practical session by developing your coaching and mentoring skills to enhance performance and encourage self-exploration.

Session 4 - Design Thinking

Experience the creative process of finding new and transformative solutions to problems whilst also generating innovative ideas and opportunities.

Online resources

You will have access to a range of online resources to enhance your understanding of the topics covered. These include webinars, online presentations and articles.

Graduation

Graduation event for the year's cohorts.

You will receive a UWE certificate of attendance to demonstrate your CPD hours.

Study facilities

Our Executive Education Programmes are run at our dedicated Bristol Business Engagement Centre, providing a professional environment for your development needs. Located at Frenchay Campus, with easy access to the M4 and M5 motorways and Bristol Parkway rail station, it has four fully equipped training rooms, a communications and reception area.

To be able to fully participate in our programme, you will need to have access to a computer to participate in webinar sessions.

Supplementary fee information

Although the programme is complimentary for UWE Bristol alumni, we are asking for a fee of £25 to cover administration costs.
