About this course
Page last updated 15 March 2019
We offer one-day short courses covering different aspects of applied statistics. Courses are non-credit bearing and are designed for quick learning of the material covered.
Any course materials, including pre-reading, refreshments and lunch are included in the fee.
The course requires you to have some working knowledge of regression techniques and factor analysis to get the most out of the day.
Overseas students need to have, in advance of application, either a valid student visa or evidence of residency status in the UK.
The course starts with an overview of what Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) is and how it relates to regression techniques and factor analysis. The software AMOS is used and you will develop skills in the use of AMOS, path diagram construction, analysis formats, output management and modelling practice. The course will then build on these concepts and skills to introduce the structural equation modelling.
Topics covered include:
- Concepts and terminology
- Model identification
- Model testing
- Specification search
- Multiple Group Factor Analysis
- Constraining parameters
- Dealing with rejection
- Modification Indices
The course provides a one day overview of SEM concepts and in the use of AMOS. The course does contain a lot of content and requires you to have some working knowledge of regression techniques and factor analysis to get the most out of the day.
This course will run from 10.00 - 16.00 on Monday 17 June 2019
This is a non-credit bearing course and no assessment will be undertaken. You will receive a Certificate of Attendance on completion of the course.
