Introduction

The new NMC Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment (SSSA) (2018) will be implemented in practice from September 2019.

UWE Bristol has been working with our Practice Partners to design a number of routes to support the development of staff into these new roles. One route is attendance at our Practice Supervisor or Practice Assessor Study Days.

Structure

Content

Our Practice Assessor Study Day is suitable for a registered health care professional on the same part of the NMC register as the student (and has completed their preceptorship).

The Study Day will  prepare assessors to complete the student's assessment process and, together with the designated academic assessor, will make decisions about the student's proficiency and progression from one stage of the programme to the next. Assessors will be prepared to undertake the student assessment during attendance at this Study Day.
