Biography of Dr Lynne Lawrance

By day, Lynne is an academic teaching Medical Microbiology and running a Masters degree at UWE Bristol but, away from work, she is a barbershop fanatic. Lynne started when she joined Avon Harmony on moving back to Bristol and is still there 15 years on. Lynne wanted a hobby to enable her to get out and meet people. The Avon Harmony gave Lynne the confidence to start a quartet as well, and eventually she became an extreme quartetter.

Lynne is heavily involved in the scene now, currently chair of Avon Harmony, baritone section leader, and sings with two mixed choruses (The Bristol Mix and EQ Rendezvous). She attends extreme quartet events twice year (UK and Germany) and sings with two ladies' quartets (Red Velvet and Roulette). Recently, she started to train as a judge for the British Association for Barbershop Singers (BABS) in the presentation category and will be doing her first shadow judging in November.
