Entry requirements
Due to funding restrictions, all learners must meet the following criteria:
- Be aged 19 by 8 January 2025
- Live in or work for a SME organisation based in in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Bath and North East Somerset or North Somerset
- Not currently be in full-time or part-time education
- Have the right to live and work in the UK
- Have not registered and attended (including partial completion) any other Skills Bootcamp since April 2024 from any provider.
- Have your employers agreement to attend and achieve the required outcomes.

Our Skills Bootcamp is structured through a mixture of online and in-person live tutor led interactive sessions and self-study resources. Alongside this, learners will be supported by our Skills Bootcamp Team and our Industry Coach who will work with you to develop your personal action plan for implementing desired change.
Across the ten weeks you will explore topics including:
- Key terminology and concepts around sustainability (Scope 1,2 and 3)
- Regional support available to SME businesses to introduce clean growth strategies and funding
- Workforce engagement and behavioural change
- Communicating with stakeholders and building a sustainable brand
- Waste management
- Measuring and reducing digital emissions
- Sustainability certifications
- How to address sustainability in procurement and tenders
Through the live sessions you will create a personalised sustainability development action plan for your organisation/department.

Live sessions will take place in-person at Frenchay Campus, Bristol
Full day sessions will run from 09:30-16:30
Half day sessions will run from 09:30-13:00

- Session 2 20 January 2025 (half day, online)
- Session 3 27 January 2025 (full day, in-person)
- Session 4 3 February 2025 (half day, online)
- Session 5 10 February 2025 (full day, in-person)
- Session 6 24 February 2025 (full day, in-person)
- Session 7 3 March 2025 (half day, online)
- Session 8 10 March 2025 (full day, in-person)
- Session 9 17 March 2025 (full day, in-person)
- Session 10 24 March 2025 (full day, in-person)
Alongside these sessions, learners will be required to undertake self-study activity and 1-2-1 action planning sessions.
Skills Bootcamp Fees:
This Skills Bootcamp is only open to individuals applying through their SME employer, if you are looking to apply as an independent learner, or through a large organisation employer, please complete our Expression of Interest form (How to Apply section below) to be notified of suitable dates.
All successful applicants will be funded 90% of the fee with their SME employer required to pay the remaining 10% contribution of £290.27.
