Our Scaling Green Business: SME Growth Skills Bootcamp is an exciting collaboration between UWE Bristol and Sustainable Ventures, designed to support small to medium-sized businesses to develop their confidence and capability to not just scale, but to lead meaningful, scalable change, while driving meaningful environmental impact and shaping a greener, more resilient West of England region.
Sustainable Ventures are the UK's leading investor in early-stage Climate Tech, with over 50 investments, and the largest hub of sustainable organisations in Europe, propelling 1000+ cleantech startups toward success. While UWE Bristol delivers industry-designed, business-focused training that builds leadership, resilience, and the skills to thrive in a changing economy, empowering SMEs to drive long-term impact and access fresh talent through student and graduate opportunities.
Designed for founders, leaders, and decision markers, this programme blends expert-led training with real-world applicationhelping you embed new skills directly into your roles and businesses to create immediate value for their organisation. From market expansion and people management to strategic planning and systems for growth, each session is built to deliver actionable insight that drives performance.
What's more, through our programme you'll get to surround yourself with like-minded business contacts to grow your network, explore collaboration opportunities, and learn from best practice and previous successes. Our Skills Bootcamp is structured through a mixture of in-person and online live tutor-led interactive sessions, 1:1 expert access appointments, ecosystem networking, and self-study resources, while focusing on the following key areas:

Live sessions will take place in-person at Frenchay Campus, Bristol from 09:30-16:30. Alongside the live sessions, learners will be required to undertake a small amount of self-study activity.
Bootcamp fees
This Skills Bootcamp has limited spaces available for SME employees.
90% government-funded for SME employers(inc charities and CICs).
This Skills Bootcamp is heavily subsidised, with the government covering 90% of the total cost for eligible learners applying through their SME employer.The full course fee is £3,939.90, but SME employers pay just 10% - only £393.99 per learner.
Please note: This Bootcamp is currently open only to applicants sponsored by SME employers. If you're an independent learner, self-employed, or part of a large organisation, please complete the Expression of Interest form in the How to Apply section so we can notify you about future availability.
The Skills Bootcamps Programme is funded and managed by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority and delivered by UWE, Bristol.
