About

The Compassionate Mindful Resilience (CMR) is a four-week mindfulness programme, designed to support resilience and wellbeing using mindfulness and compassion-based practices.

CMR, developed by Mindfulness UK, is the first short programme to be recognised by the International Panel for the Acknowledgement of Mindfulness-Based Programmes (IPA) and aligns with the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches (BAMBA) good practice guidelines.

The orientation session offers an opportunity to learn more about the course and ask any questions you may have. You'll also experience a short practice in a small group setting, helping you decide whether this programme is right for you at this time. Upon completion of your orientation session, you will be invited to formally register on the course and pay your course fees via the UWE Bristol WPM System. Attendance at the orientation session is a course requirement.

Who is this course suitable for?

This short course is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 who is interested in mindfulness and/or compassion. During the taught sessions, you'll be invited to take part in brief mindfulness-based practices and will be encouraged to continue practising at home between sessions to gain the full benefit of the programme. People choose to join a mindfulness-based programme for many reasons, including:

  • curiosity about mindfulness

  • a desire to understand stress more deeply

  • supporting general health and wellbeing

  • learning new ways to respond to stress

  • managing negative self-talk or thoughts

  • living more fully in the present moment.

Structure

Content

Over the four weeks of the CMR programme, we'll explore topics such as emotional intelligence, mindfulness, compassion, and resilience, alongside guided practices to help integrate mindfulness into everyday life. Each practice is designed to be accessible and support regular brief practices, typically lasting around 10 minutes.

The CMR is an introductory programme that teaches effective, evidence-based practices, skills, and techniques to manage stress, build resilience, and enhance wellbeing through mindfulness and compassion. Practices are designed to fit busy schedules and provide workable options where longer sessions may feel less accessible.
