This two-week online course gives the perfect introduction to studying at UWE Bristol.

Students who have already been accepted onto one of our courses can improve their language and academic skills before term starts.

Current UWE Bristol students who would benefit from further academic support are also welcome.

Thursday 8 January 2026: Working together: Groupwork at UWE Bristol
Friday 9 January 2026: Communicating with your lecturers
Monday 12 January 2026: British language and culture
Tuesday 13 January 2026: Listening to lectures
Wednesday 14 January 2026: Academic writing style and AI
Thursday 15 January 2026: Academic skills support
Friday 16 January 2026: Meet, chat and get ready: your first 30 days at UWE Bristol

Each session will be delivered twice a day to accommodate for students and staff in different time zones. You can attend at either time.

You will:

be taught by highly qualified and experienced language teachers.
receive information about Bristol and the University environment.
have access to online learning materials for self-study, to support your learning.

The course will be delivered online on Zoom.
