This course is an introduction to using the R software and language, suitable for those who have never encountered R before. No previous statistical knowledge is assumed but participants should be familiar with Microsoft Windows and Excel.

Topics include running calculations, handling data, organising instructions, calculation of summary statistics and producing graphics. Teaching is through guided computer practicals. The main learning objective is a familiarity with R that will give course participants a platform from which to explore the wide range of functions provided by R.
